Wolf is a betting format for a group of four or five golfers in which one individual on each hole in sequential fashion is labeled the “wolf” and selects a team member to play with after seeing their initial shot. If the wolf decides not to select a partner for that hole, they go “Lone Wolf” and the bet doubles.
Wolf goes by a couple other names, too, including Captain & Crew, and Boss. Wolf is typically played using full handicaps.
